Casa-BandA Complex:

On top of the hill above Playa Pelada – where the view is the best and the breezes keep you cool - you will find the Casa-BandA complex behind the white walls.

We don’t get a lot of traffic up here, so it is quiet and peaceful – that is as quiet as nature allows you. Colorful birds are frequent guests, and the howler monkeys are usually not far away. Sometimes they are close enough to be watched from your own balcony. Other, more quiet, wild life comes around too, reminding you that the jungle is not far away.

Behind the wall with locked gates in the front and the tall fences on the three other sides, you will be in your own little and very private world, only sharing the space with guests in the other apartments. We know of several friendships that have been formed and rekindled at Casa-BandA.

To be sure that you will find a truly relaxing and peaceful atmosphere among other adults, guests must be 18 or older to reside at or visit Casa-BandA, something our many returning guests appreciate. The resort is adjacent to the Biologica Reserve and in a very quiet area, and our adult only policy assures that you will have a peaceful and enjoyable stay.

The Casa-BandA complex consists of six apartments which can be rented in any combination, either individually or together for a group. In total, we have room for 16 people. This would be the perfect place for your family or friends reunion or for your ‘Special Interest Group’. Should your group be larger than we can accommodate, we can arrange for more lodging very close by.

You will want to forget all about the “real world” outside the walls, but if you need to connect to it, we have high speed wireless (secure) internet connection for your lap top.

All but one apartment also have telephones for local calls, including all of Costa Rica.

Each apartment also has a small, but growing, library of books.

Outdoors, the six apartments share the charcoal BBQ and rancho (pool house) with plenty of seating and room for lounging. The large kidney shaped pool (which is the largest privately owned pool in the area), the very lush and private garden, the parking area and the laundry room are also shared by the six units of Casa-BandA.

We grow our own papayas, bananas and plantains, and when the trees and bushes are old enough to bear fruit, we will also have limes, oranges, mangoes, and avocado. Please ask the gardener to let you know when there is ripe fruit for you to enjoy. It is usually placed in the laundry room to keep the animals from enjoying it first.

You can walk to Playa Pelada and Playa Guiones year round, and in the dry season it is possible to walk across Rio Nosara at the river mouth to Playa Nosara. It takes us 10-12 minutes to walk down to playa Pelada, about ½ mile, when we go out the back gate. Coming back takes a little longer because part of it is uphill. Walking over to Playa Guiones takes an extra 20 minutes on the beach – but you are on the beach!!

Also within walking distance: LaGarta Lodge, La Luna Restaurant, Olga’s Bar & Restaurant, Pancho’s Market and Taverna, Monkey Quad Rentals, Leroy’s River Tours and Beate’s Horseback Riding Tours, and the fish market at Playa Pelada.

Trucks with fruits/vegetables/eggs, frozen food, and baked goods come through the area each week in high season. A car or ATV will allow for exploring and more shopping in the village of Nosara, Guiones and beyond, but are not necessary for daily living. Very affordable Taxi service is also available in Nosara, $ 10-15 each way.

Each apartment has pool towels available for your use, but please bring your own towels for the beach.

Pets are not allowed anywhere on the property, and we do ask that you do not smoke inside any of the apartments.

"Banda"(B1):
Inside area: 105 m2 / 1130 ft2. Covered Outside area: 35 m2 / 373 ft2.

Banda is located on the top floor, where the spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean are visible from everywhere. All rooms have French doors to the balcony, and gorgeous, high, natural wood ceilings. With screened windows on all sides and many fans, there is always a cooling breeze. If needed, whole house type air conditioning is also available in this apartment at an additional cost.

This is our private apartment, built with a lot of care and attention to detail to get it just right. (The wood ceiling is modeled after the ceiling in the room we stayed in during our first visit to Costa Rica. The walls below were placed so the view of the ceiling would be most pleasing from everywhere.) Banda is equipped with the many little extras that make life very comfortable.

Whether you are a family of four, with “kids” older than 18, or two couples, the place offers privacy for everyone with the bedrooms and full private baths located on each side of the apartment, separated by the great room with sitting area and the kitchen.

The master bedroom has a king size bed with orthopedic mattress and the second bedroom has a queen size bed, also with an orthopedic mattress. Wake up and enjoy the view of the ocean from either bed.

The kitchen is fully equipped, and meals can be enjoyed either at the bar or on the balcony. Most of the year, you will be able to see the sun set in the ocean right from the balcony.

The apartment has a telephone, and besides the wireless internet connection you can also connect with a LAN cable for higher speed.. We have no TV, but there is a radio with tape deck plus CD/MP3 player and a selection of CD’s. if you bring an audio cable you can hook up your own music player to the stereo system.

Weekly maid service is included, extra service is available for a fee.

"Libertad" (A1):

Libertad is our other top floor condo, and if we did not already have our own, we would choose this one!

This two bedroom / two bathroom apartment offers fantastic views from sun rise to sun set of breathtaking sunsets, the white waters of Playa Pelada and Playa Guiones and the landscape in between.

Each bedroom has a king size bed with orthopedic mattress and a private full bathroom, making it comfortable for friends or a family of four (with “kids” older than 18).

The kitchen is equipped for fulltime living and meals can be enjoyed inside or on the balcony. Windows on all sides, high ceilings, and plenty of fans keep this top level apartment cool.

Weekly maid service is included, extra service is available for a fee.

Rentals are available for minimum 1 week.

This large studio apartment is perfect for any length of stay for two who like to have plenty of room.

It has a full private bath, a king size bed with orthopedic mattress and ocean view, sitting area, dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. Several fans and screened windows on three sides make it a very comfortable place to spend your stay in Nosara.

Enjoy the gorgeous view of the ocean from almost any place inside or from the shaded balcony which faces the garden and the pool.

Enjoy your meals either at the breakfast bar – where a large mirror makes sure that you can still see the ocean even when your turn your back to it – at the large dining table – with room enough for sharing a meal with new found friends, or on the terrace.

We do not have a TV, but there is a radio with tape deck and CD-player for your own or our selection of music. There is a telephone for local calls and secure WiFi for your lap top.

We do not have a TV, but there is a radio with tape deck and tapes plus CD-player for your own or our music.

When you must, there is secure WiFi connection for your laptop.

Pura Vida Studio is the neighbor to Tabidi. Together the two studios are a great combination for two couples who want to be together but not on top of each other.

Pura Vida Studio has a king size, ocean view bed with orthopedic mattress and good pillows, room for sitting, dining and lounging. The kitchen is well equipped and if you like to cook with gas, then this is the place for you!! (The gas stove also works when there is no power!)

There are several screened windows and fans for your comfort.

Weekly maid service is included, extra service is available for a fee.

Rentals are available for 1 night – or hopefully for longer.

"Cariño" (A3):

This charming, little studio apartment is perfect for one or two on a budget. The grand view and use of the very nice pool is included in the price! It has a full, but small private bath, a queen size bed, and a nicely equipped kitchenette. Enjoy the view of the ocean and the garden from the shaded terrace, take your siesta in the hammock and cool off in the large pool. Fans and windows on three sides make it a comfortable place.

Without TV or telephone you can truly relax, but for your enjoyment there is a radio with tape deck and CD-player and some CD’s.

Telephone is available at LaGarta Lodge, 5-7 minutes up the road as well as at several other locations in the area. We have secure WiFi for your lap top all over the Casa-BandA complex.

Weekly maid service is included, extra service is available for a fee.

Rentals available for 1 night – but we hope you will stay longer.

NOTES AND PAYMENT OPTIONS

To help you in your planning, these are our various policies:

Deposit:
A deposit of 50% of the rental amount is due at the time of reservation, payment in full is due 30 days prior to expected arrival. To save on fees, we will of course gladly accept full payment at the time of reservation. Payment for A/C and Internet use is payable upon arrival.

No reservation is confirmed until we receive deposit and a rental agreement completed and signed by you.

Payment options:
* By certified check/money order to Virginia, please add $ 5 to each installment for our processing fees.
* By PayPal, please add 3.5% for our fees.
* By credit card via PayPal, please add 3.5 % for our fees.
* By wire transfer to Costa Rica, please add $ 10 for bank fees in CR. Additionally, most banks in the US charge $ 40 or more to send an international wire.

Damage Deposit:
There is a $300 cash security deposit per apartment required upon arrival. Please be prepared to pay this in CASH, US $ or CR colones. This deposit will be refunded to you upon departure, after the premises have been found to be in a satisfactory condition.

Renter is responsible for the inventory and will be charged for any missing or damaged items. This includes the property, e.g. walls, doors, fixtures, etc.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to scheduled arrival will incur a cancellation charge of 50% of required deposit amount.  Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to scheduled arrival are considered non-refundable unless we are able to rebook the property for the dates you had reserved. If we rebook the property, we will refund a prorated share of the rental fee for each day we are able to fill, less a $50 cancellation fee.

There will be no refunds because of the malfunction of the contents of any of the units. We try to keep all unit contents in good working order and any problems will be addressed as quickly as possible.
