DO |
DON’T |
|
Do use, enjoy and take care of this private apartment as if it were your own. |
Do not smoke inside the apartment. Please use the ash pot on the balcony. |
|
Do lock all doors at night and when you leave the apartment. Lock the front door even if you are “just” going to the pool. Make sure that both the top and bottom latches on the right side of both the terrace doors are securely locked |
Do not take glass and china to the pool or rancho/BBQ. Please use the plastic cups and plates provided in the rancho or in the apartment. If you bring plates, utensils etc. from the common box in the rancho to your apartment, please return it to the storage boxes for others to use - and vice versa. |
|
Do use the provided pool towels and not the bath towels by the pool (There should be two large pool towels in this apartment. If not, let the manager know.) |
Do not take any towels off the property, PLEASE. (We bring
the towels from the |
|
Do enjoy the tropical nights on the terrace, by candlelight or light from the oil lamp. Leave the inside lamps inside. (The droppings from the bugs leave permanent stains.) Do get the lamp oil refilled (in the laundry room) instead of tossing the bottle. |
Do not use the pool towels or towels and wash rags from the kitchen/bathroom as floor mats or to pad your surf board in/on the car. If you need a rag, ask the maid or gardener to give you one – called “un trapo”. |
|
Do use the safe or walk-in bodega for your valuables. Instructions for setting your own code are found with the safe. |
Do not sit on cushions or leather rockers if you are in wet clothing or have board wax on your shorts. |
|
Do drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. The water from the tap is safe to drink! Keep pitchers in the fridge for cold water, running it for long will not make it colder. |
Do not waste water, a precious commodity in Nosara during the dry season – and sometimes rationed. |
|
Do help Nosara, please, by not creating more trash than absolutely necessary. The landfill can barely keep up, plastic bottles from bottled water being a huge problem, and the overflow too easily ends up in the jungle, the rivers and then in the ocean to great harm for the ecological health of our world. Please place the recyclables: plastic bottles, cans and
glass in the containers in the laundry room. Please flatten boxes and other materials that you put in the trash can. |
Do not leave spills on the counter or any food out and wash or rinse off plates, cups, utensils etc. right after use. It takes barely a crumb to start the ant invasion, and it is amazing how fast the scouts bring word back to camp that there is a new “restaurant” in town. Before poisoning the place, make sure that everything really has been cleaned up. Do not panic if you see a “carpet” of ants inside or out. The army ants are there to clean up and will move on quickly when they are done. Don’t step on them, they will bite – and they have big “teeth”. |
|
Do compost your organic waste from fruits and vegetables. Collect in the covered compost bucket and toss in the jungle on the other side of the road. This will also help keep the ants and other bugs out. |
Do not think that the spider webs and ants are a sign of sloppy housekeeping. They are a fact of life here. You are in the jungle! |
|
Do bring reusable shopping bags when you shop for groceries. In an effort to curtail the use of plastic shopping bags and to encourage recycling, the majority of Nosara super markets and mini supers are charging for each plastic bag. Each participating store has canvas “Nosara Recyclia” grocery bags for sale. We have provided one for you to use. Please leave it in the apartment when you check out. |
Do not fret if there are hiccups in the electrical supply
or you find yourself without power for hours. It is all part of life in Do not forget to restart the washer and dryer after an outage. |
|
Do pick flowers to decorate your place and do use only the provided vases for flowers instead of drinking glasses (yuck!). For candles, use the candleholders. |
Do not move the dial on the Tide Clock, as it has been set to be as close to accurate as possible for our location. It is not supposed to show time of day, only how many hours to next high/low tide. |
|
Do visit with new friends in the other units. If you bring something from the kitchen, PLEASE return everything, so we can keep it all sorted out, since each apartment in the Casa-Banda complex is uniquely designed and equipped. |
Do not take anything with you when you check out that you did not bring into the apartment. It is the only way we can keep it well equipped. If you enjoyed the use of umbrella and pool towels, please let other guests have the same option. |
|
Do tell the property manager if something breaks or is worn beyond usability, so she can have the item replaced for you and/or the guests coming after you. |
Do not forget to bring the flashlight if you go for a walk
close to sunset. It sets at |
|
Do leave us a message in the guest book, we love reading what our guests have to say, and we will collect those sentiments for a long time. |
Do not tear out pages from the guest book to use as note paper. We have provided a pad for your shopping list. |
|
Do respect our NO KIDS/NO PETS policy, also with visiting local friends. |
Do not get us in trouble with Costa Rican law, please, by bringing anybody under the age of 18 onto the grounds. We are at times “Clothing Optional”, and by law, we can not mix children and nudity. Even if everybody is clothed, we can not risk any confusion about when kids are here or not. Big thank you for understanding!! |
|
Do check the fliers at the grocery stores or restaurants and what has been collected in the “info basket” for things to do in and around Nosara. If you come across something really enjoyable, maybe you could leave a brochure for somebody else. |
Do not be a stranger!! Please e-mail us at Info@Casa-Banda.com or write to the address above and tell us what you liked; what you missed or did not like; when you visited; what we could do better; if you found anything that did not work etc. |
In return for your comments, we will extend to you our “Welcome Back Offer” which is either a 10% discount on one future reservation for a stay in the same apartment during high season (Dec. 1 – July 31) or 15 % off during green season (Aug. 1 – Oct. 31) or the value of this discount applied to a stay in one of our other apartments.
The reservation must be made directly with us Reservations@Casa-Banda.com and not via another rental agency.
The offer is non-transferable, good for one rental period within two years of your previous stay, and it can not be combined with any other discount offer.
We will keep your name on file until you are ready for another vacation in Nosara.
We truly hope you will enjoy your stay and come back and visit us.
PURA VIDA
